Laptop suggestions? Empty Laptop suggestions?

Post by Piggle Sun Feb 16, 2014 11:53 am

I am going to get a laptop at the end of this school year for celebration of me getting straight A's for 2 years and I was wondering what I should get. I really will only play APB and probably GTA IV/V (when it comes out) and ofc some lower end games that my moms PoS could play. I really want to try under $1500 and not be too bulky and have decent battery life, I am looking at the 13.3" Sager with a 765m and a 15.6" Sager with a 770m so far.

Without a doubt an ASUS ROG laptop. I plan on getting on when I graduate High School for college.

This is the one my best friend got for college. I have used it myself and it is just as good as any good gaming desktop.

Yeah I was looking at that, and that was initially my first choice but I also need to be able to use it for my school computer and a 17.3" is kinda large and it doesn't get great battery life

It has a GTX770M so it will have limited use. You can get far better for that price. I'd suggest something more like this: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8255s-clevo-p157sm-p-5870.html

Plus Sager's are easier to upgrade in the future if needed.

Too expensive, not good enough graphics card.

And Seiro, I was looking at a 15.6" sager with a 770m, and I don't really wanna go AMD, but I just remembered that next year my HS will be providing laptops of some sort so weight is not really an issue, the 770m is actually a decent card and I was looking at some MSI's with M290x's but I fear it would use up a lot of power and be very hot. I am still considering laptops of all sizes, and the ASUS and Sager are topping the list.

How much battery life do you need? I get 3-5 hours of battery life on the power saving setting by default. I can get around 7 hours if i adjust it myself.
